September to October is the best time — fewer crowds, clear skies, better darshan experience.

• Unofficial horse/palki booking on trail — Use only official counters at Gaurikund.
• Too-cheap packages — Packages priced unusually low usually compromise on vehicle safety, accommodation quality, or support.
