✈️ By Flight

Route: You start by flying from Hyderabad (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport) to Dehradun. Some flights are direct, others connect through Delhi or Jaipur — a direct flight is ideal, taking around 2.5–3 hours.

Once you land in Dehradun, the road journey begins. You book a taxi or shared cab toward Rishikesh and then Rudraprayag — this stretch winds through hilly terrain, so it takes time. From there you reach Guptkashi, which serves as the base point for the Kedarnath leg of the journey. From Guptkashi, you continue by road to Sonprayag and then Gaurikund.Once you reach Gaurikund, the real challenge begins — there's no road from here to the Kedarnath temple, only a 16 km trek. This can be covered on foot, by pony/mule, or by palanquin (palki). If you want to save time, helicopter service is available from Phata or Sersi that takes you directly to Kedarnath

After darshan at Kedarnath, you return to Gaurikund and head by road toward Badrinath — this route passes through Rudraprayag and Joshimath, roughly 230–240 km. The good news is Badrinath requires no trek at all — the temple is directly accessible by road.On the return journey, you follow the same route back to Dehradun and fly back to Hyderabad.

🚆 By Train

Route: This option is for those who are budget-conscious and not in a hurry. You take a train from Hyderabad to Haridwar or Dehradun — these routes usually aren't direct, mostly connecting via Delhi/Nizamuddin, so the train journey alone can take 24–30 hours.

Once you arrive in Haridwar/Dehradun, the same road process as the flight option kicks in — Rishikesh to Rudraprayag, then Guptkashi, Sonprayag, and Gaurikund. From here too, the same 16 km trek to Kedarnath is required.After darshan, you head to Badrinath via the same road route, and the return journey is also by train back to Hyderabad.

Route: This is the longest and most adventure-oriented option. The entire journey is covered by road — from Hyderabad to Nagpur, then via Delhi or Meerut to Haridwar. This stretch alone is over 1,500 km and takes 2–3 days of pure driving.

Once you reach Haridwar, the familiar route follows — Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Guptkashi, Gaurikund, and then the 16 km trek to Kedarnath.After darshan, you head to Badrinath by road, and on the return journey you retrace the entire route back to Hyderabad.
